Occasionally we have assisted companies in developing both their selection and RFP processes, as well as writing the RFPs.

It is important to remember that writing an RFP is a team effort. Typically, information needed for an effective RFP comes from several people and sources, including:

  • Program or Project Manager – The person who will lead or oversee the outsourcing effort.
  • Subject Matter Expert(s) – The person(s) most knowledgeable about the operations or processes being outsourced.
  • Key Stakeholders – The persons, departments or business units who will need to interact with the outsourced operation or process (e.g., Sales, IT, Engineering).
  • Purchasing – The group responsible for the process of vendor selection and engagement.
  • Legal – The group responsible for safeguarding company interests and avoiding exposure or risk.
  • Accounting – The group responsible for billing compliance.
