Tips on Finalizing the Program
Consider these tips when you are completing an outsourced program:
- A formal and public acknowledgement of individual and vendor contributions to a program’s completion is an effective way of recognizing and thanking team members’ efforts on a long and/or difficult program.
- Hold a debriefing session for all program participants, including the sponsor, vendor, and stakeholders at the end of a program. This formally completes the process and ensures any outstanding issues are noted and addressed.
- Be sure to include representatives from Purchasing, Finance and Legal when closing out a program. These groups typically perform some additional tasks before a program is formally completed. They need to know when final invoices can be paid and contracts closed out.
